I wrote We Sing in the car on the way home from the very first Power of Us event in May 2025. It was sparked by something Nicola Humber - rebel leader of Unbound Press - shared in her powerful talk: when women’s voices come together in community, there is the power to change the world, to move mountains.
That truth landed deeply in me. In that moment, I realised the profound magic of coming together in song, of reclaiming our voices not just as individuals but as a collective. The song poured through me in about 20 minutes, carried by the spirit of community, memory, and the musicals that shaped me as a child (with a little Julie Andrews energy channeled too ✨).
This song is my love-letter to that moment, and to the power of voices rising together.
We sing to remember, we sing to rejoice,
we sing to reclaim the truth of our voice.
We sing to regroup, come together in song,
we sing to move mountains and truly belong.
The earth knows our power, she’s guiding us home,
to beauty and love, to beauty and love.
Our body knows the answer, her wisdom is clear,
we’re finding the courage no longer in fear.
My Voice is the title track of my album, and it was the very first song I wrote as an adult, back in October 2023. I wrote it in preparation for heading to the Singing Leader Training Weekend with the Singing Mamas.
At that time, I was feeling overwhelmed at the request to share a song in circle. I found myself tangled in thoughts about permission and cultural appropriation, and the weight of choosing someone else’s song to offer. So instead, I made a decision: I would write my own.
This song is a true reflection of where I was then - before the dandelions woke me up, before I began writing my book, before I had ever sat in circle or facilitated a singing group. I had no idea that this moment, and that weekend of training, would be the beginning of a huge transformation.
What followed was an unraveling. I spiraled. I came face to face with truths I had been avoiding - the lies I had told myself, the mask I had worn for so long. I had carried on pretending everything was okay, when inside I was deeply dissatisfied with my life.
Yet something in me - my soul - knew that my voice could show me the way. That’s what this song carries. That’s the message it holds.
Your voice, my dear, your true and authentic voice, can do the same for you. It can guide you. It can bring you peace.
It’s wild to look back now - to hear how the song has grown, with guitar and backing vocals - and to realise this dream of sharing it with you. These words mean so much to me, and I hope they find a place in you too.
Wild Woman was born when I was deep in the mulch.
I speak about the mulch at the beginning of My Dandelion Story - that tender, transformative space where everything breaks down so that something new can take root.
I actually wrote this song before the dandelions had called to me. But even then, my wild spirit was already whispering.
She asked me to get still.
To get quiet.
To really listen inward.
So I could reassess everything - who I had been, and where I was being called to go.
I wrote Wild Woman to sing in circle, with other women around a fire. It’s a song that belongs to the elements - to the night air, to the raging fire, our hearts beating, to the sound of the flow of our shared remembering.
As we approach Samhain, this song feels especially alive.
The veil is thin, and we can sense not only the truth within ourselves - what we are ready to create and embody in this lifetime - but also the whispers of our ancestors and spirit guides calling us home.
The lyrics are simple, cyclical, and meant to be sung together in the round.
The song came through just after I read a chapter in Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, the story of La Loba - the woman who collects the bones.
This song is for all of us.
For the wild woman rising through the mulch, bone by bone, voice by voice.
I recorded the melody into my phone. It felt good. I was content simply in this expression. This was medicine for me. And I also knew instantly that this sound and these words would soothe others as well. The lyrics are simple. The message is clear. Don’t we all need to remind ourselves of this often?
Rest awhile, dream the day away
Rest my dear, let your spirit be
Free as a bird flying high in the sky
Free like the seed floating by
Rest awhile, dream the day away
Rest my dear, let your spirit be

'Light The Way' was born at a powerful turning point in my journey - shortly after becoming a certified Multiple Brains Integration Techniques (mBIT) coach and in that process really learning to truly listen to my heart changed everything. It deepened my relationship with myself and guided me toward my purpose as a free-spirited artist, author, and bard.
The mBIT training illuminated the beautiful harmony between our head, heart, and gut intelligences - how aligning these centres helps us create meaningful change, set healthy boundaries, and live in tune with our soul’s purpose - and that its about how we be more than what we do!
This song also holds a special resonance with my dear friend and collaborator, Natalie Farrell, whose 2020 book also titled 'Light the Way' inspired me deeply. Natalie and I now co-create The Power of Us, an immersive live event for lightworkers, changemakers, and artists - a sacred stage where sound, story, and song unite in remembrance and celebration.
When I arrived at the studio to record this piece, I noticed a sense of fear - something was missing. I realised I was longing for a masculine voice to balance and complete the energy. My partner... more
Trust your heart
Walk with courage
And love will light the way
Love will light the way for me
Love will light the way
Listen to your heart
Let love light the way
"Magical Beings” was born on an ordinary car ride home after a meeting with my support team. We had just named our new WhatsApp group Magical Beings, and as I drove away, the words began to sing themselves through me — “Magical beings come round, come round…” By the time I’d finished my grocery shop, the full song had arrived. I sent a voice note of it straight into that very same chat, and it’s been part of my life ever since — sung around campfires, in sister circles, and under festival skies. Every time it’s sung, it opens hearts, lifts spirits, and calls in even more magical beings to gather.
Lyrics
Magical beings
Come round, come round
Magical beings
Come round, come round
Join us in circle and share in this moment
We're forging a new way for the world
Sing with us
Share with us
Feel all we resonate
Sing with us
Share in this song
Sing with us
Share with us
Be in this energy
Sing with us
Share in this song
Magical beings
Come round, come round
Magical beings
Come round, come round
Sit by the fire and tell us your story
Igniting the embers of our souls
Sing with us
Share with us
Feel all we resonate
Sing with us
Share in this song
Sing with us
Share with us
Be in this energy
Sing with us
Share in this song
Magical beings
Come round, come round
Magical beings
Come round, come round
Gaze at the flames and realise your power
By speaking your truth out to be heard
Sing with us
Share with us
Feel all we resonate
Sing with us
Share in this song
Sing with us
Share with us
Be in this energy
Sing with us
Share in this song
Magical beings
Come round, come round
Magical beings
Come round, come round
And when it is over all spirits expanded
Our love radiates from our hearts
I wrote this song for the first Power of US event. I asked Cosmic Songbird to lend her amazing vocals to the track when we recorded this in Spain back in April 2025. This track really speaks to the journey I am on right now!
The call, do you hear it?
The call, can you feel it?
It's within you
It's within you
