Dandelion Stories

School and Community Workshops

In these workshops nature becomes both teacher and collaborator, offering endless inspiration through colour, texture, weather, wildlife and the cycles of growth, rest and renewal. Dandelion Stories creates an open, inclusive space where every one is encouraged to discover their own voice and develop a lifelong relationship with creativity and the natural world.

Dandelion Stories Philosophy

Dandelion Stories is rooted in the belief that creativity flourishes when we feel connected - to ourselves, to one another and to the living world. By working with the changing seasons as a creative rhythm, we are invited to slow down, observe, imagine and find our own unique voices and the courage to express our own stories.

Nature-Based Storytelling & Voice Workshops

Currently piloting with Primary Schools and Home Education Communities in the Bristol and Bath area.

Emily Doe is an author, song writer, and creative facilitator based in Bristol.  She is currently writing her first fiction novel The Dandelion Chronicles, a children's chapter book inspired by the changing seasons, the wisdom of the natural world, and the stories that emerge when we learn to listen deeply to our imagination.

By slowing down, observing nature, noticing symbols and themes, and allowing stories to emerge organically, Emily helps children discover that creativity is not something we have to force - it is something we can learn to listen to.

Her workshops invite young people to explore this same process, building confidence in their imagination, storytelling, and unique voice.

Emily has experience facilitating workshops and sessions in schools with children and teachers and is part of the team at Bristol Family School. She is also a Priestess in training with The Bristol Goddess Temple and a member of OBOD currently studying the Bardic grade.

For Schools

Dandelion Stories is a nature-based storytelling and voice programme for children, designed to build confidence, creativity, communication skills, and self-expression through connection with the natural world. Combining seasonal themes, outdoor observation, creative writing, storytelling, and song, these workshops complement existing outdoor learning and Forest School provision while encouraging children to discover and share their unique voice.

View the Schools Information for more details on the workshop structure, benefits, safeguarding information, and opportunities to pilot the programme in your school.

For Home Education Groups

Dandelion Stories is a seasonal storytelling and voice programme for home education communities, offering eight gatherings across the Wheel of the Year. Through circle time, nature connection, creative writing, song writing, and shared storytelling, children are invited to explore their imagination, build confidence in their voice, and develop a deeper relationship with the changing seasons. Each gathering provides a calm, supportive environment where creativity, community, and self-expression can flourish.

View the Home Education Information for full details, seasonal themes, workshop structure, venue options, and how to bring Dandelion Stories to your home education group.

Community Events

Dandelion Stories also offers bespoke storytelling, voice, and creativity workshops for community groups, festivals, libraries, youth organisations, and adult wellbeing programmes. Rooted in nature, storytelling, song, and shared experience, each session is thoughtfully adapted to the age, interests, and needs of the group.

Gathering around a seasonal theme we explore creativity through writing and voice, creating meaningful moments of connection in community. These workshops are designed to inspire imagination, confidence, and authentic self-expression.

Dandelion Stories Approach

Dandelion Stories is a nature-based creative practice that brings together storytelling, seasonal awareness, music, reflection, symbolism and imaginative play to help children discover confidence in their own unique voice.

Drawing on the rhythms of the natural world and the changing seasons, each workshop invites children to slow down, observe, imagine and create. Through gentle, inclusive activities, and speaking and listening in circle, they are encouraged to explore their own ideas, emotions and experiences, transforming them into original stories, poems, songs or other creative responses.

Rather than teaching children what to write, Dandelion Stories offers a creative framework that helps them discover how to express themselves. Nature becomes the inspiration, storytelling becomes the creative process, and confidence in their own voice becomes the lasting outcome.
